The Evelyn dress combines a fitted bodice with a V-neckline and half-length raglan sleeves with a full, swinging pleated skirt that ends just below the knee. Deep pockets are hidden in the side seams; it closes at the back with a zip and a button above a small slit at the back of the neck. A separate tie belt in the same fabric runs through loops at the waist and is tied into a bow at the side. The Flying Scotsman print recalls the era of the great train journeys: beneath a sky of cloud bands in navy, olive, rust, mustard yellow and white, a station scene with green saloon carriages, a steam locomotive, travellers, porters and suitcases runs along the hem, framed by autumn trees and a leafy vine on a cream hem band. A cardigan in rust, olive or cream goes well with it.
The outer fabric and lining are 100% organic cotton. The outer fabric is plain woven with a slight sheen, and the bodice is lined with white cotton. The dress was made in Great Britain.
